BYWAYS: “Banner Boys” are here!

Blog Header

Report! A nice, big box of Hometown Challenge postcards arrived from the printer. I’ll show you the backs of these gorgeous postcards, which were designed by my illustrator, Hannah Christenson. I’m keeping the illustration on the other side—which is called “Banner Boys”—a surprise for now.

Remember, the only way you can receive one of these postcards is to take part in the Hometown Challenge. And if you tell me which of the brothers you’re cheering for, I’ll have them stamp in on your postcard.

IN THE MAILBAG! I received Hometown Challenge postcards this week from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Assateague Island National Seashore! Will my next card be from your hometown? I hope so!

Hometown Challenge

CJ has issued a special challenge to Byways readers everywhere. When you mail her a postcard from your hometown, she’ll send back a postcard from the brothers. If your hometown doesn’t have their own postcards, one from your home state, nearby city, or local historical site is fine and dandy. [International readers can play along, too.]

1) IMPORTANT: For this to work, you’ll need to include a return address on your postcard.
2) If you tell CJ which brother you hope will win the race, she’ll add his stamp to your postcard.
3) Your postcard may be featured on a future “Mailbag” blog post.
4) CJ will add a pin for your hometown to the big map that hangs near her favorite writing spot.

The postcard you’ll get back in the mail is special. You can only get one by taking part in the Hometown Challenge. To claim yours, send your postcard to…

    1. If you read all the way to the back of Book 1: On Your Marks, there’s an ‘About the Author’ page. And that’s where my personal stamp is found. There are elements from all of CJ’s various series worked into its design.

My illustrator also stamps in at the back of the book! ; )
