All the hauntings and vindictive ghosts make for an edge-of-seat reading. These ghosts are far from passive; those who are ghost-touched are goners. Danger, clues, and an unfolding mystery involving a missing girl, all well told. I thoroughly enjoyed Stroud’s storytelling and have added him to my “Favorite Authors” list. As of this posting, I’ve read 3 of the 5 Lockwood & Co. books currently available.

Fair warning: this series will probably be too scary for sensitive youngsters.
