New Series. Those of you who subscribe to my newsletter have already heard a little bit about my new series. The first of the Byways books will release in July, less then two months from today, so it’s time to start introducing you to the Johns family and the world in which they live.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll count down to the July 4 release of Book 1: On Your Marks with sneak peeks of everything from cast portraits to cover art. Beginning with today’s unveiling the header that appears on all the Byways book covers. Hannah Christenson is my illustrator, and she’s done an amazing job. Take a look, and click for a larger view:

Series Summary: Ian Johns is the founder of the postal system in the land of Liberty. Twice widowed, he has three sons, all half-brothers, and the boys don’t get along. In order to help them bond, Ian plans a tour of the country in the hopes that travel will bring them closer together. But somehow, the plan is twisted around, and the trip becomes a race.

Age Range: These books are geared for young readers who are ready for their very first chapter books (K-2).
